Dayton’s largest company, CareSource, is further investing in Augment Therapy technology as featured in Dayton Business Journal

One of the nation’s largest managed Medicaid organizations, CareSource, is making a $1 million investment in Cleveland-based Augment Therapy, which provides patients with immersive, gamified technology to improve rehabilitative healthcare. Augment Therapy’s software is designed to motivate patients and support therapists. The investment is meant to connect CareSource members to technology addressing care gaps.

“CareSource believes Augment Therapy’s innovative, immersive technology can transform the health care industry’s approach to physical therapy and significantly improve rehabilitation outcomes for patients with significant disabilities and complex health needs,” said Josh Boynton, senior vice president for complex health solutions at CareSource, in a news release.

This investment follows on the announcement of a strategic partnership and pilot program between CareSource and Augment Therapy earlier this year. The pilot program is underway in four locations throughout Ohio and aims to expand rehabilitative care through augmented reality therapy exercises and research how access to the company’s software encourages children, adults and seniors to participate in increased exercise opportunities while determining feasibility and adherence rates for coordinated care.
