Augment Therapy Selected for Unity for Humanity Grant

This has been a really hard secret to keep, but we can finally announce that we have been selected for a 2022 Unity for Humanity grant!

Unity is the world’s leading platform for creating and operating real-time 3D (RT3D) content and the foundation of our Augment Therapy app. It’s very humbling to receive industry recognition in this competitive space.

While recognition and financial support are always nice, we are most excited to partner with such a great organization as Unity for Humanity.

A little about them: “Unity for Humanity celebrates and empowers creators who are using real-time 3D to inspire change. The program represents the company’s strong belief that the world is a better place with more creators in it and its commitment to empowering creators with the resources and guidance to bring these powerful experiences to life.”

So what will we do with the grant? Enter Augment Adventures, a new product by Augment Therapy.

Children experience extreme anxiety before and during radiation treatments, requiring them to be sedated. Augment Adventures will allow children to familiarize themselves with radiation treatment rooms and machines before their treatment. On the day of their appointment, before their treatment, they will do AR exercises designed to reduce anxiety and increase comfort to improve general comfort and relaxation.

With this Unity for Humanity Grant funding, we plan to integrate more diverse avatars, grow our collection of relaxation exercises, and create more custom treatment space renderings.

Our goal is a world where children and their families can access healthcare treatments without fear. Though many aspects of a child’s healthcare journey are unavoidable, we dream of using technology to improve the experience.

Thank you Unity for Humanity, for bringing us one step closer to this dream!
